Cut video clips from a file or a link, in your browser

The Clip Cutter trims a video down to the exact seconds you need and saves that section as an MP4. Drop a file from your computer, or paste a link from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Vimeo, Reddit and many other sites, set the in and out points, and download — no account, no software to install, and no watermark.

It's built for creators who need a highlight, a reaction, a quote, or a sound bite in a hurry. The cut is frame-accurate and doesn't re-encode the whole video, so clips are ready fast. Only clip content you have the rights to use.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes — cutting and downloading clips is completely free, with no signup and no watermark.

Can I cut a video file from my computer?

Yes. Choose From your computer and drop an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV file. It is trimmed right in your browser — the file is never uploaded, and the clip is copied without re-encoding wherever possible, so quality stays the same.

What's the maximum clip length?

There's no hard limit, but very long clips take longer to process. For best results keep clips under a few minutes.

Which sites can I paste a link from?

Most popular platforms — YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter), Vimeo, Reddit, Facebook, Twitch, VK and many more. Public videos work best; private or login-only posts usually can't be fetched.

Can I download just the audio (MP3)?

For YouTube links, yes — switch the output to Audio · MP3. Links from other sites and local files are cut as video.

Why does processing sometimes take a while?

A link has to be fetched before it can be cut. For YouTube we fetch only the section you selected; for other sites we fetch the video once, then you trim it right in your browser.
